 INTERCON pioneered high-linepull winches for modern workboats. Intercon's anchor handling winches replaced "towing machines" as the standard for the offshore oil market - especially in the formative stages of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea. Power and strength for severe service became principal design criteria for all Intercon towing and anchor handling winches. Linepull capabilities range from 35,000 to 1,000,000 lbs.
Mooring winches for barge and drill rig service are available in wire sizes up to 3.5 inch diameter. D.C. electric drives and controls are an Intercon specialty.
